SUMMARY
The Business Development Coordinator, EMEA, supports member engagement, administrative tasks, and event coordination for the Business Development team. This role assists with member inquiries, outreach efforts, and retention strategies while collaborating with internal teams to develop resources and communications.
WHAT YOU’LL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Business Development Team, EMEA, in delivering high-quality member engagement and administrative support. You will assist in responding to member inquiries, maintaining accurate records, and facilitating communication efforts to enhance member participation in CEDIA programmes. This role will also include assisting with industry engagement, tracking key performance metrics, and supporting sales, marketing, and advocacy initiatives as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
- Serve as a contact for members, addressing inquiries and providing support where needed.
- Proactively engage members to share updates, gather feedback, and encourage participation in CEDIA programmes (e.g., training, research, events, awards).
- Assist in developing and implementing strategies to attract new members and retain existing ones.
- Provide administrative support to the Business Development Team, EMEA, including scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate member records.
- Help track key performance metrics related to member engagement and report findings to leadership.
- Work with internal teams to develop member resources such as case studies, training guides, and marketing collateral.
- Assist in aligning member engagement efforts with broader organizational goals through collaboration with Education, Certification, Standards, Marketing, and Events teams.
- Stay informed on industry trends to provide relevant insights to members.
- Represent CEDIA at industry events and assist with UK government affairs, policy engagement, and workforce development initiatives.
- Help identify and close smaller sales contracts (e.g., digital and print sales) to contribute to revenue growth.
- Assist marketing as needed with member communications via email, phone, newsletters, and social media.
- Respond promptly and professionally to member inquiries.
- Act as an on-site or virtual point of contact for the business development team during events to ensure a seamless experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage professionally and effectively with members.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with members, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Experience in scheduling, data entry, record-keeping, and managing reports with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proactive approach to identifying opportunities, addressing member concerns, and supporting business development efforts.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with various teams to align efforts with organisational goals.
- Willingness to stay informed about industry trends and CEDIA programs to provide relevant insights and support.
- Comfortable assisting with small sales opportunities and member recruitment efforts.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, adjust to shifting priorities, and support various initiatives as needed.
- Demonstrates a high level of integrity, reliability, and accountability in all interactions. Maintains a positive and respectful attitude while representing the organization, both internally and externally.
- Ability to travel to events as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Business Administration or a related field is highly preferred.
- Previous experience in a customer service, membership support, business development, or administrative role required.
- Experience working in a professional association, trade organisation, membership-based organization or smart home industry is a plus.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, data management, and reporting tools is preferred.
TRAVEL
This position may require you to travel to international off-site team building events annually, up to 2 weeks/year. Other light travel may be required as needed for local events.
