Overall Assignment Description:
The CI Cyber Threat Technical Analyst will ensure all reports are complete with minimal errors and that all processes, activities, and reports are conducted within established time frames. They will also ensure analysts are trained in and follow current standard operating procedures.
Duties:
- Support team members in completing forensics reports, CI Cyber Inquiries, and threat reports. Support includes written and technical analysis to understand threats or situations.
- Identify, analyze, and translate user, customer, and stakeholder needs into technical requirements.
- Detect anomalous activity through network data analysis.
- Record best practices, lessons learned, and procedures.
- Evaluate intrusion detection, incident tickets, logs, and security systems.
- Provide written reports based on findings.
- Work independently with technical objectives.
- Participate in special projects and develop malware awareness products.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams on malware threats and vulnerabilities.
- Investigate malicious code to determine attack vectors and extent of damage.
- Develop analysis and recommend software purchases for malware mitigation.
- Identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate CI Cyber activities from incident response events.
- Liaise with various security and intelligence organizations.
- Perform threat analysis, forecasts, alerts, and countermeasure recommendations.
Skills and Experience:
- At least 7 years of network analysis experience.
- Ability to decipher network artifacts.
- Obtain or possess DoD 8570.01-M IA Level III certification within one year.
- Desired: Graduate of a federal or DoD CI training academy, Bachelor’s or higher in STEM, DoD Cyber Crimes Investigator certification, malware analysis experience, knowledge of foreign adversaries, and leadership skills.
