We are a Manchester-based charity that supports children, young people, and families in overcoming barriers and building sustainable futures.
We deliver Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programmes in partnership with local providers, offering safe, welcoming spaces where children can enjoy enriching activities, healthy meals and positive experiences during the school holidays.
The Role
We are looking for energetic and creative people who have experience working with children to deliver a range of exciting activities. As an Activities Facilitator you will plan and run fun and engaging sessions that keep children active, happy and involved during our holiday programme days. Activities may include arts and crafts, sports, themed challenges, STEM mini projects, drama, outdoor play and quiet-time sessions.
You will ensure that every child feels safe, included and confident enough to take part, creating positive and memorable experiences each day. Working alongside the Site Lead, staff and volunteers, you will help provide a welcoming space where children can play, learn and build friendships.
Main Duties

Deliver and lead daily activity sessions in line with programme plans

Supervise children during sessions, breaks and transitions, ensuring safety and wellbeing

Understand individual needs and adapt activities to include and engage all children

Encourage teamwork, confidence and positive participation

Set up and pack away spaces, materials and equipment each day

Support sign-in and sign-out procedures
-
Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
-
Promote inclusion, wellbeing and positive behaviour throughout the day

Follow safeguarding, behaviour management and health & safety procedures

Report incidents, accidents or concerns promptly to the Site Lead

Contribute to daily briefings and end-of-day reflections

Attend team meetings and required training sessions
Person Specification
Essential
-
Experience working with children or young people (in schools, nurseries, clubs or community settings)
-
Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) in childcare, education, playwork, youth work or a related field

Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one before starting)

Understanding of safeguarding, child protection and equal opportunities
-
Confidence leading or facilitating group activities
-
Good communication, organisational and teamwork skills
-
A positive, flexible and proactive approach to working with children

Ability to maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive environment

Full work history and two satisfactory references

Right to work in the United Kingdom
Desirable
-
Level 3 or higher qualification in childcare, education, youth work, playwork or sports coaching

PGCE, QTS or teaching assistant qualification
-
Experience delivering holiday clubs, after-school or enrichment programmes
-
Experience supporting children with additional needs
-
Paediatric First Aid certificate (or willingness to complete training)

Experience using basic IT systems for registers or reporting

Up-to-date safeguarding or child protection training
