We are seeking a compassionate, skilled and proactive Teaching Assistant (Advanced) to join our team and make a genuine difference to children’s learning, wellbeing and future opportunities. This is more than a support role. We are looking for someone who can lead learning, champion inclusion and help children thrive both academically and emotionally.
About the Role
As an Advanced Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and leaders to support high-quality teaching and learning across the school. You will deliver targeted interventions, provide pastoral support, mentor other teaching assistants and, when required, lead whole-class teaching. You will play a vital role in helping children overcome barriers, develop confidence and achieve their full potential.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting and delivering high‑quality learning activities for individuals, groups and whole classes
- Leading interventions to close gaps in learning and improve outcomes
- Supporting pupils with SEND and additional needs
- Promoting independence, resilience and positive behaviour
- Helping create stimulating and purposeful learning environments
- Providing short‑term classroom cover where required
- Supporting pastoral provision and pupil wellbeing
- Mentoring and supporting other teaching assistants and volunteers
- Working collaboratively with teachers, families and external professionals
