Job Overview:
Our client (a reinsurance business) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead the establishment of a new function within a wider programme forming a new entity. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery while maintaining quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to navigate a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Delivery: Oversee and manage the setup of the function, ensuring successful execution of all project phases.
- Project Planning: Define project scope, objectives, and key deliverables. Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans to guide team members and stakeholders.
- Resource Management: Secure and allocate necessary resources, managing internal teams and third-party vendors effectively.
- Execution & Monitoring: Ensure projects adhere to defined plans, tracking progress using appropriate project management tools and methodologies.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks, implementing mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment with business objectives. Maintain clear communication with senior stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, issues, and any necessary changes.
- Budget Management: Develop and oversee project budgets, ensuring financial accountability and cost control.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all deliverables meet established quality standards and align with stakeholder expectations.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Experience in the insurance sector
- Experience using Eclipse
- Proven experience managing transformation projects in corporate or regulated environments.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and manage project teams effectively.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders and balancing competing priorities.
- Strong time management and task prioritization skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to challenge assumptions and propose effective solutions.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software, particularly MS Project.
- Keen attention to detail to ensure project success.
