Day rate: £350 to £450 per day (Inside IR35)

Location: London, hybrid working

Duration: 6 months (with potential extension)

A large, high profile public sector organisation in London is seeking an experienced Interim Senior Finance Business Partner to provide strategic financial support across a complex, multi-disciplinary environment. Working within a well established finance directorate, you will play a key role in supporting senior stakeholders, delivering high quality financial insights and ensuring robust financial stewardship. You will act as a trusted adviser, leading on budget management, financial planning and analysis, and supporting the delivery of organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business partnering with senior leaders, providing strategic financial advice and challenge.
  • Leading the financial monitoring of assigned budgets.
  • Preparing and contributing to financial reports, forecasting, budget planning and annual accounts activity.
  • Reviewing proposals and appraising financial implications.
  • Supporting external budget and consultation processes and contributing to submissions for external bodies.
  • Managing a small team and ensuring effective communication, development and performance.
  • Promoting continuous improvement, strong financial controls and value for money across the organisation.

Essential Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in financial planning, management and reporting within a large and complex public sector organisation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present clear, actionable insights.
  • Skilled communicator able to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong understanding of government finance is desirable.
