An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Buyer to join a growing infrastructure and engineering business in London to deliver on major projects. As a Senior Buyer, you'll have ownership of procurement activities across live projects, ensuring materials, suppliers and commercial agreements are managed effectively to support impactful project delivery. The successful person will help to drive cost efficiencies, strengthen supplier performance and ensure procurement activities remain aligned with project budgets, programmes and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing procurement activities across multiple infrastructure projects
  • Sourcing cost-effective materials and services
  • Negotiating pricing schedules, commercial terms and supplier agreements
  • Managing supplier relationships and monitoring supply chain performance
  • Supporting project teams with procurement planning and delivery
  • Ensuring procurement processes and governance procedures are followed
  • Managing purchasing documentation and approvals
  • Monitoring contractual changes and updating purchase orders accordingly
  • Communicating delivery risks, delays and supply chain issues pro-actively
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience as a Buyer within a similar role
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts and Contract Law
  • Experience using ERP systems, ideally SAP Business One
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent communication and analytical abilities
  • A proactive and solutions focused approach
  • The ability to work flexibly within project driven environments
  • CIPS Level 4 qualification (preferred)
