We are partnering with a fast-paced, high-growth business to recruit an experienced Interim Payroll Manager for an initial 3-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on payroll professional who enjoys working autonomously and taking full ownership of the end-to-end payroll function. Supporting a SME workforce you will be the sole Payroll Manager, ensuring payroll is delivered accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with all statutory and audit requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process for approximately 900 employees.
- Take full ownership of payroll operations, working independently with minimal supervision.
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately and in line with UK legislation and company policies.
- Support internal and external audit requirements, providing payroll documentation and reconciliations as required.
- Maintain payroll records and resolve complex payroll queries efficiently.
- Produce payroll reports using Excel and support finance with payroll-related reconciliations.
- Work closely with HR and Finance to ensure employee data is accurate and up to date.
- Assist with payroll administration and other ad hoc administrative duties as required.
About You
- Proven experience managing complex, high-volume payrolls.
- Previous experience supporting payroll audits and ensuring compliance.
- Comfortable working as the sole payroll professional and taking ownership of the function.
- Hands-on approach with the flexibility to support administrative tasks when required.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Experience using Deel is highly desirable.
