An exciting opportunity has been created for a Group Tax Manager to take ownership of the UK tax affairs of a group market leader in their sector. This is a broad role that will largely be corporate tax focussed but cover indirect tax and employment taxes. You will need to be comfortable having a hands on approach with compliance (currently outsourced) and reporting, whilst also partnering with the business to provide tax input on transactions and operations, developing tax strategy, M&A and governance work.
You will have autonomy for all tax activity for the UK Group, key responsibilities include:
- Ensure tax compliance across the UK Group across all taxes
- Ensure reporting requirements are met in accordance with Group requirements
- Managing the relationship with HMRC and external advisors
- Advising the business across M&A activity, employment tax and indirect tax issues, governance and process improvement
This is a role where you will be able to add value and make improvements to existing processes and the way tax is viewed by the business. You will either be moving from an in–house role and looking to take ownership over the tax function for the UK Group, or be working at Senior Manager / Director level in a mid tier Firm where you have seen a range of issues across the tax function. They are very flexible with location and are looking for someone o be in the office 2–3 days a week – they have head offices in the City, North West London and Bedfordshire.
