Cedar is exclusively partnered with a PE Backed Buy & Build Platform who are seeking to hire a Group Financial Controller. The business offers a remote first working pattern with occasional travel to their office in Nottingham and other UK hubs.

As Group Financial Controller, you will help drive the next phase of its ambitious growth strategy, and this is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing leadership team in a business that is scaling rapidly through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisitions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Own day-to-day financial operations, controls and compliance across the Group
  • Oversee the finance team, including accounting, AP/AR, reconciliations, and centralised processing
  • Lead the financial integration of acquired businesses, working closely with the M&A and FP&A teams
  • Ensure a successful rollout of the Group's new accounting platform
  • Support group-wide reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Maintain strong banking, tax, and audit relationships
  • Champion the automation of key processes, including AP and credit control
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and structure as the business transitions from a multi-entity group to a unified operating platform

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with post-qualified experience in a scaling environment
  • Experience in a PE-backed or buy-and-build context highly desirable
  • Strong technical accounting skills and familiarity with multi-entity structures
  • Systems savvy - ideally with experience implementing or optimising ERP systems (e.g. Sage Intacct, NetSuite)
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and change; thrives in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments
  • Proven ability to lead and develop finance teams during periods of transformation
  • High integrity, low ego, and a collaborative leadership style
