The Role

As Interim Financial Controller, responsibilities will likely include:

  • Ownership of monthly management accounts and consolidated group reporting across multiple entities and international operations
  • Leading month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
  • Supporting delivery of annual statutory accounts and external audit requirements
  • Strengthening financial controls, governance and reporting processes across the group
  • Managing balance sheet integrity, reconciliations and reporting accuracy
  • Providing detailed variance analysis, commentary and performance insight to senior leadership
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cashflow reporting processes
  • Working closely with operational stakeholders to improve reporting quality and commercial visibility
  • Supporting finance transformation initiatives, process automation and reporting improvements
  • Acting as a key finance lead across ERP and systems optimisation activity
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across reporting, controls and finance operations
  • Assisting with multi-entity accounting, intercompany processes and wider group finance activities

Your Profile

You will ideally have:

  • A formal accountancy qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
  • Previous Financial Controller, Group Finance or senior operational finance experience within complex environments
  • Strong technical accounting, reporting and audit experience
  • Experience operating within multi‑entity and ideally international group structures
  • Strong month‑end, controls and financial reporting capability
  • Experience improving finance processes and reporting efficiency
  • Exposure to ERP systems, finance transformation or reporting improvement initiatives
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A hands‑on and delivery‑focused approach, with the ability to operate effectively in fast‑paced environments
  • Prior interim or contract experience would be advantageous but is not essential
