Join a team where care, excellence, and growth truly matter. Cedar Vets is owned and run by husband-and-wife team Charlie and Lara, and has been part of our local community for over 130 years. We’re proud of our clinical standards, but just as proud of how we look after our people and our clients.

We work across our practices in Alton, Alresford and Bordon, plus a small branch in Four Marks. Our newest practice in Bordon opened in March 2025, and as we grow we’re creating new roles and new opportunities to shape the future of the practice.

What We Value

  • We Care: for our clients, their pets and each other, especially when times are tough.
  • One Team: no silos and no egos. We step in and support one another.
  • Better Every Day: we’re curious and always learning. We aim for progress, not perfection.
  • Sustainable Growth: we invest in our people and our quality, and we do things the right way.
  • Create Your Own Path: we value people who spot a problem and take the initiative to solve it.

If these values excite you, you will fit right in.

What the Role Really Involves

Our Business Administrator is the person who keeps the practice running smoothly behind the scenes, so our vets, nurses and client care team can focus on the animals and the people in front of them. Reporting to our Senior Business Administrator, you’ll:

  • Process pet insurance claims, including direct claims, chasing insurers, resolving queries and keeping clients updated along the way.
  • Manage our Lifetime Care Club, signing up new members, keeping plan records and renewals accurate, following up missed payments and answering client questions.
  • Reconcile insurance and plan payments with our finance function.
  • Keep our systems, records and filing accurate and up to date.
  • Support our site leads with diaries, communications, rotas, meetings and training events.
  • Log and track stock orders, maintenance visits and inspections.
  • Help keep our GDPR, RCVS and Health & Safety records in order and make sure regular checks are completed on time.
  • Process and track invoices, and liaise with suppliers professionally and promptly.

It’s a varied role with a lot of moving parts, but you are never alone. You’ll have the support of our Senior Business Administrator and a team that genuinely pulls together, and full training on our systems, insurance claims and the Lifetime Care Club.

You will Be a Great Fit If You Are:

  • Highly organised: you love a well-kept list, and nothing slips through the cracks.
  • Accurate and detail-driven: you know a missing invoice or a wrong digit can hold up a client’s claim, and you care about getting it right.
  • Warm and tactful: you can talk to a worried client about an insurance shortfall or a missed payment with kindness and clarity.
  • A proactive problem-solver: you chase the claim before anyone asks, and you suggest a better way of doing things.
  • Calm under pressure: competing deadlines don’t rattle you, and you prioritise sensibly.
  • Trustworthy: you handle personal and financial information with discretion.

If that sounds like you, you will feel at home at Cedar Vets.

What We are Looking For

  • Administrative experience in an office, healthcare or customer-facing setting (veterinary experience not essential).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence with computer systems and Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A positive attitude that fits our values.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Experience with insurance claims or payment plans is a bonus, but not essential.

What We Offer

  • £13.34 per hour.
  • Full-time, permanent contract.
  • Free parking.
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • Ongoing training and development.
  • Real opportunities to grow your skills and responsibilities as the practice expands.
  • A supportive, modern working environment where your contribution is recognised.

Cedar Vets is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds.
