We are a family run business with a number of Nursing and Residential Care Homes that have been caring and nursing for people in Gloucestershire for over 30 years. Our philosophy is to provide warm, compassionate and friendly environments whilst aiming to enrich people\’s lives at a time when they thought that might not be easily achieved.

We are committed to providing the highest possible standard of maintenance & repairs across our Care Home Business and are looking for someone to join our team. As part of our maintenance team, you\’ll be based mainly at our Cheltenham location with the opportunity to work at our other four Gloucestershire locations. You\’ll be responsible for the proactive and reactive maintenance at our highly rated Chargrove Lawn location on a daily basis, and will also participate in our on call service alongside the rest of the team. Ideal for someone looking to fit their work hours around their lifestyle, this post is for 25 hours per week, or five hours per day\’

Requirements

  • We are seeking compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic individuals with a \”can-do\” attitude.
  • We are looking for people who are self-motivated, who can rise to a challenge and can work in innovative ways.
  • Any additional skills including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and decorating are welcomed.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety.

Role

  • Responsible for the internal and external proactive and reactive repairs of the home ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all Residents, Staff & Visitors.
  • Carry out minor repairs as required; furniture; replacing bulbs; basic plumbing (including changing taps, replacing toilets, unblocking sinks, drains etc); minor electrical repairs (i.e. call bells, fuses, sockets); decorating, refurbishing and upkeep of rooms.
  • Assisting with Deliveries and Goods In / Out.
  • Moving furniture and assisting with preparing rooms to let.
  • Ensure the upkeep of the driveway and entrance to the home including some gardening as required.
  • Carry out weekly, monthly & bi-annual compliance checks in line with Government guidelines and legislation.
  • Overtime can occasionally be available.
  • On call responsibility will be required and is shared via a rota.
  • 20 hours per week, over 5 days.
  • Flexibility is useful as occasional weekend days may be required.
