VAT Advisory Manager – London (Hybrid, 2 Days in the Office) A top 20 UK chartered accountancy firm is seeking an experienced
VAT Advisory Manager
to join their growing Indirect Tax team. This is a career-enhancing opportunity focused primarily on
VAT advisory work , with only
two days a week required in the London office . The VAT team is led by a Partner and includes a Manager, a Senior and a Trainee. The department provides specialist VAT advice across a wide range of sectors and complex matters, including property transactions, charities, e-commerce, and international services. Key Responsibilities: Deliver expert VAT advice on issues such as property transactions, charity VAT treatment, place of supply, and digital/e-commerce taxation.
Draft instructions to Tax Counsel on technical matters, structuring, and disputes.
Manage complex VAT cases, including those progressing to ADR or tribunal stage.
Undertake VAT reviews, due diligence assignments, and technical analysis.
Respond to VAT queries from clients and internal teams.
Contribute to technical content creation, including articles, webinars, and seminars.
Support the development and supervision of junior VAT staff.
Collaborate with the Partner on litigation matters and business development initiatives.
Candidate Requirements: A minimum of
4 years\’ UK VAT experience
in an accountancy practice environment.
Demonstrable experience advising clients and dealing with HMRC.
Strong technical knowledge and ability to manage complex VAT matters confidently.
