Reports to: Head of Accounts Receivable
Role Purpose
Responsible for banking operations, cash management and treasury controls, ensuring efficient cash flow, strong governance and minimised financial risk. The role manages banking relationships, payments, bank accounts, treasury systems and a team, while ensuring regulatory and policy compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Banking & Payments
- Manage banking relationships, service delivery, fees and banking facilities.
- Oversee bank account openings, closures, mandates, signatories and KYC/AML requirements.
- Manage payment processing, direct debits, collections and payment controls.
- Resolve payment exceptions and operational banking issues.
- Cash & Treasury
- Monitor daily cash positions and banking transactions.
- Support cash forecasting, liquidity management and intercompany cash movements.
- Monitor FX, interest rate and counterparty exposures.
- Identify opportunities to improve cash visibility and efficiency.
- Controls & Risk
- Maintain robust treasury, banking and payment controls.
- Ensure segregation of duties and compliance with policies, regulations and delegated authorities.
- Support audit activity.
- Manage banking risks, fraud prevention, business continuity and operational incidents.
- Systems & Reporting
- Manage online banking and treasury systems, including user access and security.
- Support banking technology projects and system changes.
- Produce management information and monitor banking costs, volumes and service levels.
- Oversee bank and key account reconciliations.
- Stakeholder & Team Management
- Work closely with Treasury, Finance, Accounts Payable and IT.
- Provide banking expertise, training and operational support.
- Manage internal and external banking/audit relationships.
- Lead, develop and motivate the team, including performance management and workload allocation.
- Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Essential Requirements
- Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
- Treasury/banking qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, ACT or CTP preferred.
- Extensive experience in treasury, banking operations, cash management, corporate finance or financial control.
- Experience in a multi-entity or international environment.
- Strong knowledge of banking operations and payment methods including SWIFT, BACS, CHAPS and Faster Payments.
- Experience managing banking relationships.
- Strong understanding of treasury controls, governance, segregation of duties, credit risk, cash management, AML and KYC.
- Experience leading and developing teams.
- Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems.
- Strong Excel, analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong focus on accuracy, governance, compliance and financial controls.
