Cedar are pleased to support a highly reputable Public Sector client based in London with the recruitment of a Senior Procurement Officer. The role will be to work across their Construction category. This is a 12-month fixed term contract opportunity (with high possibility for extension depending on project pipelines) plus a comprehensive benefits package including a very generous pension scheme and annual leave entitlement plus access to a benefits platform.
Reporting into the Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering full end-to-end procurement activities across Construction goods and/or services, with contract values of up to £5m.
Main Duties:- Lead end to end procurement activity for medium value/risk tenders
- Provide clear, pragmatic advice to commissioners to deliver value for money and effective outcomes
- Conduct market research, benchmarking, and supplier engagement to inform procurement strategies
- Develop procurement strategies, specifications, evaluation models, and contract documentation in collaboration with Legal and internal stakeholders
- Incorporate sustainability and social value considerations into procurement activity
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and governance requirements
- Produce tender evaluation reports and support contract award recommendations
- Support contract mobilisation through to handover
- Manage stakeholder engagement, risk, and supplier relationships throughout the process
- Stay up to date with procurement policy, best practice, and legislative developments
- Experience in a similar Procurement, Commercial, Category, or Contract Management role within the UK Public Sector
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end procurements within Construction
- Experience of working to NEC3/4 OR JCT
- Ideally working towards or have achieved Level 4 CIPS
- Completion of PA23 training
