Cedar Recruitment are supporting a well regarded engineering company with the recruitment of an experienced Senior Commercial Manager within M&E to take ownership of the commercial function on major projects across the City of London. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone with a very strong Quantity Surveying / Commercial management background and who possesses a proven track record of delivering on large infrastructure programmes. For the role you MUST be able to get work in the office 4-5 days per week in London and the salary on offer for the role is £100,000 - £120,000 per annum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the commercial management of M&E sub-contracts across the project life cycle
- Lead on contract negotiation, ongoing contract administration, and adhering to NEC contractual requirements
- Provide commercial expertise to tender submissions and broader business development efforts
- Partner with finance and project delivery teams to support accurate forecasting, cost control, and performance reporting
- Promote effective commercial practices within a highly regulated, greenfield delivery environment
- Engage both confidently and professionally with stakeholders, building and maintaining strong working relationships
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience in senior commercial / QS roles on M&E sub-contract or infrastructure projects
- Strong Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) commercial / QS experience
- In-depth knowledge of NEC contracts and construction law
- Experience of working for an organisation that has acted as a sub-contractor to a Tier 1 client is highly desirable
- Possess excellent stakeholder and client management skills
- Degree qualified with professional membership (MRICS / CIOB or equivalent)
- Subcontract on major infrastructure projects experience highly desirable
