Cedar is partnering with a private equity-backed B2B SaaS business to appoint a commercially focused Chief Financial Officer. Following a recent growth investment, the business is entering an exciting stage of its development. With an established international customer base and significant scope for further expansion, it is now looking for a CFO who can help shape and execute the next phase of growth.
This is broader than a traditional finance leadership position. Operating as a genuine strategic partner to the CEO and Board, the CFO will combine robust financial leadership with the commercial and operational mindset of a CFO/COO.
The opportunity
The CFO will take ownership of the finance function while playing a central role in the wider development of the business. Key responsibilities will include:
- Building and professionalising a scalable finance function
- Developing high-quality forecasting, budgeting and management information
- Establishing clear SaaS KPI reporting across ARR, retention, churn, CAC, LTV and unit economics
- Partnering with the CEO and leadership team on commercial strategy and growth execution
- Providing insight across pricing, customer profitability and channel performance
- Supporting operational decision-making across the wider business
- Working closely with the private equity investor, Board and Chairman
- Strengthening governance, controls and reporting
- Supporting international expansion and future investment decisions
- Preparing the business for its next funding event and, ultimately, a successful exit
We are open to an established CFO or an ambitious Finance Director ready to step into their first CFO appointment. You will ideally bring:
- Finance leadership experience within a B2B SaaS scale-up, typically operating between £3m and £20m ARR
- A strong understanding of SaaS metrics, recurring revenue models and commercial drivers
- Previous exposure to a private equity, growth equity or institutional investor-backed environment
- The ability to move comfortably between strategic planning and hands-on execution
- Strong commercial instincts, with experience influencing pricing, customer economics and operational performance
- The credibility to partner effectively with founders, investors and senior leadership
- A pragmatic, entrepreneurial and low-ego approach
- The appetite to operate beyond finance and contribute across the wider business
This represents an excellent opportunity to join a well-backed technology business at a genuine inflection point. The incoming CFO will have considerable influence over its growth strategy, operating model and long-term value-creation journey.
