Royalties & Licensing Accountant Leicester | Full-time | Office-based | Circa Β£45,000 Previous royalties experience is essential. Cedar is working with a well-established international business operating across the licensed consumer products sector, to recruit a Royalties & Licensing Accountant to join their finance team in Leicester. This is a specialist role with responsibility for the full royalty accounting process across a portfolio of licences. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders, licensors and external auditors, combining financial analysis with commercial and contractual understanding. About the Role You'll take ownership of the end-to-end royalty process, including: Preparing and distributing monthly, quarterly and semi-annual royalty statements. Managing the timely receipt and processing of licensor royalty statements. Reviewing, validating and approving royalty invoices. Analysing and summarising large volumes of royalty data for licensors. Using Excel to manipulate, analyse and reconcile high volumes of data. Producing monthly and quarterly royalty analysis and reporting. Supporting the reconciliation and clearance of royalty-related balance sheet accounts. Preparing and distributing royalty forecast reports. Acting as a key point of contact for internal and external royalty queries. Supporting and managing the end-to-end licensor audit process, including data collection, compliance, query resolution and settlement calculations. Carrying out detailed reviews of licensing agreements to identify financial, operational and contractual risks. Interpreting contract clauses and highlighting potential risks, ambiguities or unfavourable terms. Supporting internal and compliance audits across key licences. Building effective relationships with licensors and other external stakeholders. Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting. Person Specification Royalties experience is essential. We're looking for someone who can demonstrate: Previous experience within a royalties, licensing or similar finance environment. Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables. Confidence working with large volumes of financial data. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience working with financial audits. The ability to interpret and understand contractual and licensing terms. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. A proactive approach to improving processes and controls. The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines.
