Location: Sudbury, Suffolk (2 days in the office / 3 days from home)

Salary: £35,000 per annum

Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

PLEASE NOTE: To be successful for this role, you must live within a commutable distance from Sudbury and hold a full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle. Candidates who do not meet this criteria will not be contacted.

We are currently seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Administrator to join our clients finance team on a 12-month fixed term contract. This role is ideal for an experienced finance professional with a strong background in Accounts Receivable, bookkeeping, and finance administration who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in accuracy, efficiency, and delivering excellent service. You will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance operations, including customer account management, cash allocation, bookkeeping, month-end activities, and wider finance administration duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily cash allocation and accurate posting of customer receipts
  • Managing customer queries and resolving discrepancies promptly and professionally
  • Issuing and managing sales invoices, credit notes, and copy invoices
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer accounts
  • Performing account reconciliations and investigating variances
  • Supporting month-end finance processes, including reconciliations, reporting, and account reviews
  • Completing bookkeeping duties, including maintaining financial records and supporting transactional accounting activities
  • Assisting with finance administration tasks to support the wider finance function
  • Preparing and reviewing finance reports and documentation as required
  • Liaising with internal teams and external customers to ensure timely resolution of queries and issues
  • Supporting continuous improvement of finance processes and procedures

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience within an AR, AP or Finance administration function
  • Strong understanding of cash allocation, invoicing, reconciliations, and query management
  • Experience with bookkeeping and month-end finance duties
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a busy environment
  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and accounting systems
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence with access to own vehicle is essential
