An NHS organisation in the West Midlands is seeking an experienced Interim Estates Operations Manager to lead the delivery of operational estates services across a large acute site.
This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring a safe, compliant and high-performing healthcare environment, managing both in-house teams and external contractors.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the day-to-day operational management of estates maintenance services across buildings, engineering systems and grounds
- Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements, HTMs and H&S regulations
- Manage planned and reactive maintenance programmes to deliver a safe and efficient patient environment
- Oversee estates contracts, procurement activity and contractor performance
- Take responsibility for delegated budgets, driving value for money and efficiency improvements
- Lead, develop and performance manage estates teams, fostering a strong and collaborative culture
- Act as Authorised Person (or work towards) across key disciplines such as water safety, medical gases, ventilation or electrical systems
- Support business continuity planning and respond to operational incidents as required, including participation in on-call
- Significant experience in estates operations within a complex healthcare environment
- Strong knowledge of statutory compliance, HTMs and estates governance frameworks
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams and external contractors
- Demonstrable experience of budget management and service improvement
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in a building services or engineering discipline
- Health & Safety qualification (e.g.)
