Asset Accountant
Up to £63,000 | Central London | Hybrid
An exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a high profile, fast paced retail business in a key role across a large multi-site estate.
This is more than a traditional asset accounting role. You’ll take ownership of the asset base, work across new stores, refurbishments and technology projects, and partner with senior stakeholders to support investment decisions and improve processes.
The role
- Own the fixed asset register and WIP across a multi site environment
- Manage acquisitions, disposals, refurbishments, transfers, impairments and depreciation
- Oversee accounting for new stores and refurbishment projects
- Manage project accounting and capital expenditure
- Partner with Technology and operational teams on budgets and investment
- Analyse project spend, variances and ROI
- Deliver accurate month end reporting and reconciliations
- Support audit and improve finance processes
Person specification
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
- Essential: proven fixed asset / asset accounting experience
- Essential: multi site experience
- Experience within retail, FMCG or another asset intensive business
- Strong Excel and financial analysis skills
- Good understanding of IFRS / UK GAAP
- Strong business partnering and stakeholder management skills
- ERP experience
