The Cedar Foundation is seeking to recruit a Communication Manager.

Salary: £39,367 per annum

Hours: 37 Hrs per Week (Monday to Wednesday working pattern). The successful candidate will also benefit from flexitime.

Location: Balmoral, 1 Upper Lisburn Road, Belfast BT10 0GW. Agile Working Option available (This role will require occasional travel throughout Northern Ireland).

The Role:

The post holder will provide creative, strategic and operational oversight of communications, leading the development and delivery of impactful internal and external communications across digital and traditional channels, and brand management. This includes:

  • Leading the development and implementation of the Communications Strategy and Action Plan.
  • Ensuring communications activity effectively supports organisational priorities, user engagement, and co-production.
  • Providing strategic direction for communication campaigns, awareness initiatives, and key organisational events.
  • Responding to media enquiries and aligning messaging with fundraising activity.
  • Ensuring the organisation's impact is effectively communicated to stakeholders, partners, and the wider community.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced communications professional to influence organisational culture, strengthen brand identity, and make a meaningful impact through effective storytelling and engagement. The Communications Manager will lead and manage the Communications function within Cedar, ensuring our messaging is clear, consistent, engaging and aligned with our strategic priorities.

Essential Criteria:

  • RQF level 6 (e.g. Bachelor's Degree) or equivalent level professional qualification AND Minimum of 3 years' paid experience in a communications/marketing role OR QCF Level 5 Diploma in a relevant professional qualification AND minimum of 5 years' paid experience in the management and delivery of a communications role.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience contributing to an organisation's communications strategy, including development of strategic communications.
  • Minimum of 1 year's experience of digital communications to include website management and social media channels.
  • Minimum of 1 year's supervisory/line management experience.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of communications in a Community and Voluntary sector or Health and Social care organisation.
  • An understanding of accessibility requirements for communications and marketing content across digital and printed channels.
  • Qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or other relevant discipline.
