Hours: 40 hours per week worked over 4 days (including weekends, no evenings)

Rate of Pay: £14.50 - 15.50 per hour

Job Role

• To prepare and deliver high-quality meals within the Home, liaising with the home manager and registered nurses ensuring that any special dietary requirements are catered for.
• Maintaining high standards of hygiene in the kitchen in accordance with the company's policies and procedures.
• Manage, train and lead by example to inspire the rest of the kitchen staff.
• A confident leader capable of managing a busy kitchen but also a team player working with the well-being coordinators organising any special events.

Job Description

• Ordering and monitoring supplies to ensure availability and minimise wastage.
• Allocating and coordinating the work of Kitchen Assistants.
• Liaising with other departments within the home, to ensure efficient and effective services.
• Prepare all meals to an excellent standard and quality.
• A complete understanding of Health and safety as well as Food Hygiene issues, COSHH.
• Working within the guidelines relating to cross‑injfection.
• Maintain up‑to‑date and accurate records in accordance with Cedar Care policies and procedures.
• Have an open, honest, supportive approach.
• Have Excellent culinary skills with a good understanding of special dietary requirements including intolerances, allergies and be familiar on the IDDSI Framework.

Job Requirements

• NVQ Level 2 in Catering and Hospitality (Desired but not essential)
• Experience of working within a Care setting
• Experience of managing a Kitchen
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
