Job Role

Supports the care team and senior management in a way that promotes the Cedar Care Vision to create a strong and nurturing family, where care is based on building of respectful relationships amongst residents and the staff that assist them, resulting in a feeling of security, contentment and a sense of belonging.

In doing so the Senior nurse assists in implementing and monitoring systems and ensures compliance to maintain:

  • The safe and effective running of the home where residents are supported in a caring and responsive way.
  • NMC and CQC registration requirements including the submission of notifications and any other conditions of the registration, in the absence of the home manager for best practice, regulatory and legal requirements.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Delivers high quality care and services whilst maintaining a nurturing, open, fair and transparent culture.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with key organisations such as CQC, local authority, CCG's and safeguarding teams, etc..., through open communication and mutual trust.
  • Works in a responsive way so that residents have maximum choice and control about how they live their life and how their health and social needs are met.
  • Ensure Care is delivered safely so that residents are protected from abuse and avoidable harm.
  • Assists with the management of clinical and care provisions effectively so that residents treatment and care management achieves good outcomes, promotes a good quality of life and is based on best practice guidelines.
  • Maintaining a caring culture so that staff are involved and are motivated to treat residents with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect at all times.
