Role Overview
The Admissions Officer plays a key role in supporting the effective delivery of the College’s admissions and recruitment processes. Working under the direction of the Head of Admissions, the postholder is responsible for administering applications, assessing qualifications, and providing professional, accurate advice and guidance to prospective students and stakeholders. This role requires a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual who can manage multiple priorities, maintain high standards of service, and contribute to the continuous improvement of admissions operations. The Admissions Officer will support data reporting and analysis, assist in the development of admissions policies and procedures, and represent CECOS College at recruitment and outreach events. The postholder will work collaboratively across departments to ensure that every applicant receives a positive and efficient admissions experience, aligned with the College’s mission, values, and commitment to excellence, inclusion, and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Head of Admissions, to be responsible for all aspects of the Administration And Processing Of Applications To CECOS College, Including:
- Providing professional advice and guidance on admissions and recruitment processes and procedures
- Assessing qualifications (including contributing to defining academic requirements)
- To undertake specific responsibilities relating to key areas of Admissions as defined by the Head of Admissions
- To support the Admissions Manager in the generation and analysis of applications Statistics, Reports And Papers, To Include:
- Maintaining an awareness and understanding of the current recruitment position and application figures
- An understanding as to how best to use relevant data reports and to contribute to developing and updating reporting in order to meet the needs of the directorate
- To use awareness of figures to contribute to Admissions and Recruitment strategies
- Providing high quality IAG to all prospective students
- Maintaining a high standard of knowledge and awareness of the CECOS College’s requirements and Admissions processes
- Representing the CECOS College at internal and external events, to include (but not limited to) Open Events, UCAS Fairs and Clearing which may include overnight (or longer) travel
- To have an awareness and understanding of all procedures and policies relating to UCAS and Direct applications
- To identify where process, procedures and/or policies can be developed and enhanced
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and general IT systems
- Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Analytical approach to problem-solving and service improvement
