An internationally recognised leader in data centre and critical infrastructure solutions is looking for a Design & Engineering Manager – Electrical to join its growing EMEA Data Centre division. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for someone passionate about delivering innovative, resilient, and future-ready data centre environments.
Reporting directly to the EMEA Head of Engineering, you will lead the electrical engineering strategy and design delivery across major hyperscale and mission-critical projects throughout the region. Combining technical expertise with leadership capability, you will play a key role in driving engineering excellence, innovation, and project success.

The Opportunity
This is a strategic yet hands-on engineering leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys balancing technical problem-solving, team leadership, and client engagement. You will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, oversee complex electrical design packages, and contribute to the delivery of scalable, efficient, and highly resilient data centre solutions across the full project lifecycle. From concept and detailed design through to commissioning and project closeout, you will have significant influence over engineering standards, innovation initiatives, and technical delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design and engineering delivery for major data centre projects across EMEA
- Provide hands-on technical leadership across critical electrical infrastructure systems
- Manage and mentor engineering teams and subject matter experts across multidisciplinary projects
- Drive engineering quality, technical compliance, and project performance
- Review and approve technical designs, calculations, specifications, and engineering documentation
- Lead client-facing technical discussions, workshops, and design reviews
- Support value engineering initiatives and identify innovative technical solutions
- Collaborate closely with project management, construction, and commercial teams
- Support commissioning, installation reviews, and technical issue resolution on-site
- Develop and maintain engineering standards, processes, and best practices across the business
Technical Environment
Projects include a broad range of mission-critical technologies, including:
- Medium & low voltage power distribution
- UPS systems
- Standby generation
- Transformers
- Cooling & HVAC systems
- Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Energy Management Systems (EMS)
- Operational technology within data centre environments
About You
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering (BSc or MSc preferred)
- 8–10+ years of experience within mission-critical or large-scale infrastructure environments
- Strong background delivering electrical design solutions for data centres or critical facilities
- Excellent understanding of power distribution, UPS, generators, and associated infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, electrical codes, and engineering best practices
- Experience leading engineering teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is advantageous
- Exposure to emerging technologies such as edge computing and AI-driven infrastructure would be beneficial
