We are looking to expand our Training Academy Team and are keen to speak to those interested in helping us develop the next generation of highly skilled platers and welders. These individuals are key to the business in developing the fabrication team from apprentice to experienced operative.

Responsibilities

  • To work in accordance with Company Health, Safety & Environment procedures, policies and standard working practices.
  • To work in accordance with Company Quality procedures, policies, and standard working practices.
  • Delivery of trade specific competency framework for the apprentices (welders and platers) and wider workforce.
  • Supporting Construction in the mentoring and coaching of apprentices within Academy and in production.
  • Liaising with HR and Construction Supervision on individual skills gaps within the workforce and supporting development accordingly.
  • Maintaining documentation to support Training & Development Programmes.
  • Implementation of training plans and planning of delivery to trainee cohorts.
  • Coordination of external resources where required.
  • Attend exhibitions, colleges, and schools.
  • Open to further development activities to widen training delivery.

What We Are Looking For In The Candidate

  • A good communicator - essential for passing on knowledge to trainees whether coaching individually or presenting to groups.
  • A strong fabrication background (having completed an apprenticeship as either a plater or welder).
  • IT literate and comfortable with Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Some training experience is beneficial (Accredited Assessor or RITB instructor) desirable but not essential.
