The Head of Wines is responsible for overseeing the wine and beverage operations, which includes curating and managing the product selection, menu development, storage, inventory management, training and staff development, safety and hygiene, and ensuring sound operations and profitability. Responsible for ensuring that the wine department operates efficiently and profitably while maintaining high-quality standards and delivering exceptional customer offerings and experiences. This involves developing and implementing strategies to increase sales and profitability, as well as the development of team proficiency.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the design and layout of bar and beverage service areas
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards
  • Building relationships with suppliers and vendors

Beverage Operations:

  • Review and update standard operating procedures periodically
  • Ensure quality of products and services are offered
  • Monitor guest feedback and address complaints/concerns regarding bar/beverage offerings/services and implement corrective action to ensure overall guest satisfaction and experience

Storage and Inventory Management:

  • Identify the best products and understand the latest trends/developments in the wine and beverage industry
  • Develop menu, activations, and promotions
  • Monitor wine and beverage sales and adjust the program as needed to maximize profits and meet customer demands

Staff Management:

  • Develop training programs on product knowledge, technical, salesmanship and service orientation
  • Provide leadership and set performance standards to build a culture of excellence and teamwork
  • Recruit, train, and manage the performance of the bar/beverage team

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven relevant experience in a similar role
  • Preferably operational management experiences in the Hospitality and/or F&B sector
