- Act as an expert functional specialist for Workday technology, including HR transactions, business process configuration and design, advising the HR team, managers, and employees on proper system use.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather requirements and translate them into well-architected solutions leveraging the Workday platform; evaluate and recommend alternative solutions considering system limitations.
- Research new enhancements and releases in Workday, seeking opportunities for consistency, harmonisation, and simplification, ensuring a custom-centric experience and considering downstream system impacts.
- Co-own the delivery and prioritisation of change requests, document changes and process requirements, provide impact analysis, and implement solutions following governance procedures.
- Act as an escalation point for configuration, business process, and notification issues, analysing, diagnosing, and resolving complex technical production issues.
- Build, test, and deploy Workday configurations as part of projects and changes.
- Optimize Workday reporting tools such as PRISM, People Analytics, Worksheets, Slides, and Discovery Boards to meet stakeholder requirements for day-to-day reporting and cyclical statistics production.
- Partner with IT to support inbound/outbound integrations and payroll PECI files.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, especially IT, acting as a gatekeeper to the AMS provider for issue escalation and configuration delivery.
- Deliver training and engagement activities to ensure stakeholders utilise Workday effectively; identify opportunities to upskill users and contribute to training materials.
- Lead and guide the team on configuration and management of cyclical business processes enabled by technology.
- Oversee the work of junior colleagues and support their development.
- Engage with the Workday community to understand system capabilities and recommend solutions to address business needs.
- Strong technical understanding of HR systems and their integrations.
- Experience with Workday in medium/large complex organisations, ideally in a law firm.
- Deep knowledge of Workday functional components, including configuration and business processes in HCM, Compensation, Time and Absence, Security, Recruitment, Onboarding, and Talent.
- Workday certification and/or training are essential.
- Advanced IT skills, including MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Slicers).
- Highly numerate with strong data accuracy and analytics skills; excellent attention to detail.
- In-depth functional knowledge of end-to-end HR processes.
- Ability to translate business requirements into system solutions.
- Good organisational, planning, and project management skills.
- Effective communication skills and ability to influence a global team.
- Ability to present information clearly to various audiences, translating data and technical components into meaningful insights.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a broad perspective.
