Purpose of the role
As a Global Payroll Administrator, you will provide comprehensive, end-to-end support for payroll service delivery for 10 companies across EMEA and/or USA payroll. You will manage payroll queries, ensure accurate data processing, and maintain compliance with relevant regulations and best practices. This is a new role and requires attention to detail, strong mathematical skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines. You will also be expected to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring a high standard of service and clear, effective communication.
Key Responsibilities
Client and Stakeholder Management:
- Manage payroll-related queries from clients and employees, escalating issues where necessary.
- Coordinate client approvals and maintain audit trails.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients
- Support the Payroll Specialist and Manager with any additional duties.
Payroll Operations & Compliance
- Provide full-cycle payroll processing support across multiple clients.
- Collate and prepare payroll import files and data changes.
- Review payroll data, conduct manual checks, and prepare reports for sign-off.
- Prepare and upload third-party reports as required.
- Perform compliance checks to ensure payroll accuracy and regulatory adherence.
- Support annual payroll tasks, including:
- Year-end processing.
- P11D submissions.
- PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) Reporting.
Systems & Technology
- Identify and recommend process improvements across all payroll functions.
Knowledge
- Manual payroll calculations.
- Data protection and confidentiality protocols.
- National Minimum Wage (NMW) regulations.
- Statutory payments (e.g. SMP, SSP, SPP) and relevant calculations.
- Employee benefits and expense administration.
- Redundancy and termination payment processes, and accurate NI/tax treatment.
- Pension scheme management, including salary sacrifice schemes.
- Directorβs National Insurance (NI) calculations.
- Understanding of Share Incentive Plans (SIP) and Long-Term Incentive Plans (LTIPs)
- Understanding of payroll regulations including:
- Income Tax (ITEPA).
- Pension legislation.
- Working Time Regulations (WTR).
Required Skills
- Strong mathematics skills with the ability to conduct accurate manual payroll calculations.
- Proficiency in processing full-cycle payroll, including tax, NIC, student loans, and pension deductions.
- Familiarity with Excel functions, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Experience with modified payroll.
