Overview
CDW UK is seeking a skilled Onsite Engineer (L3) to provide hands-on technical support at our client’s Reading site. This role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting enterprise hardware, software, and network infrastructure, with an emphasis on proactive service delivery and stakeholder engagement. You will act as the first point of contact for onsite technical issues, escalating to the Service Desk or NOC as required. The role involves supporting a wide range of systems, including meeting room hardware, network infrastructure, and end-user devices, while maintaining high standards of documentation and asset management.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver onsite technical support across hardware, software, and network systems.
- Troubleshoot and escalate issues related to meeting room hardware, general hardware and software, and network infrastructure and WiFi access.
- Perform SmartHands tasks including hardware installation and maintenance.
- Administer Meraki MAC address whitelisting and monthly WiFi password changes.
- Provide ad-hoc network statistics via Meraki Dashboard and firewall logs.
- Maintain accurate asset records for in-use and spare equipment.
- Conduct proactive site checks to ensure optimal hardware performance.
- Engage with end-users to assist with setup and usage queries.
- Attend monthly stakeholder meetings to discuss infrastructure performance and proactively address issues.
- Maintain a detailed log of tasks and issues for continuous improvement.
- Hardware: PCs, docking stations, monitors, keyboards, mice, wireless APs, printers
- Software: Windows OS, general applications (troubleshooting only)
- Network: Meraki WiFi, MAC address management, firewall logs
- Tools: Meraki Dashboard, CDW Service Desk systems
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in Level 2 technical support or onsite engineering roles.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network systems.
- Familiarity with Meraki network tools and enterprise WiFi management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable attending meetings and contributing to service improvement discussions.
