Overview
This is a Level 2 Onsite Engineering role focused on supporting critical infrastructure systems. The successful candidate will provide enterprise-level hardware and software support, including legacy systems, bespoke equipment, and mission-critical platforms (not deskside support).
You will work independently and collaboratively to maintain and troubleshoot a wide range of systems, ensuring the reliability and performance of air traffic control infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Deliver onsite services for NATS, supporting enterprise infrastructure and bespoke systems.
- Provide technical support across IBM Mainframes, tape systems, DASD storage, and server platforms.
- Maintain and troubleshoot legacy and modern hardware including PCs, printers, and custom-built systems.
- Support operating systems including Windows, DOS, OS/2 Warp, IBM AIX, RedHat, and Linux.
- Perform installations, moves, and changes across supported platforms.
- Apply electro-mechanical and soldering skills to bespoke equipment repairs.
- Attend customer meetings and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Follow and improve documented procedures, contributing to team knowledge and documentation.
- Demonstrate creative problem-solving and solution-oriented thinking in high-pressure environments.
