Job Summary

The CDW’s Solution Sales organisation is in place to collaborate with sales and to be responsible for delivering high value outcomes and experiences to our existing and prospective customers across a variety of technology growth pillars including Hybrid Platforms, Modern Workspace, Security and Digital Enablement.

The Solution Sales function is made up predominantly of Business Development professionals (Sales Specialists) and various levels of Solution Architects (Presales Technical Resource).

The role of Business Development Manager is focussed on the following core areas:

Result driven sales overlay resource focussed on delivering successful financial metrics for the business.

Create and execute on a SMART business plan that delivers against targets and KPI’s.

Being a Sales Specialist in the Secure Networking solutions and services domain area.

The Business Development Manager role will be aligned to the Hybrid Platform team which focusses on multi-platform and cloud technology solutions and services with this role having a focus on Secure Networking and more particularly leading on HPE Aruba technologies. The individual will drive CDW’s Secure Networking solutions, focused on cultivating and delivering against the HPE Aruba technologies sales growth.

This role is responsible for maximizing revenue and GP growth by driving close partnerships both internally and externally and aligning with the HPE Aruba and CDW’s Secure Networking growth objectives. This will be supported with joint initiatives as per an agreed business plan.

Key Responsibilities

Establish new relationships within CDW and externally within the client/prospect base to drive performance goals e.g., revenue/Profit contribution.

Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives/KPI’s.

Work in close partnership with the internal CDW Sales and Specialist teams to identify new opportunities whilst driving proactive development of converged pipe/funnel.

Own the execution of the business plan against defined milestones & metrics.

Maintain and own any certifications requirements that support the vendor accreditation where relevant and required.

Understand and promote all relevant programs and promotions to maximize the sales opportunity.

Own and manage the HPE Aruba and associated HPE Aruba services pipeline and forecast where relevant to do so.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Demonstrable experience in delivering successful sales growth performance – running a structured sales cycle from start to finish.

An existing understanding of networking, security, datacentre, cloud, further with understanding of AI and network observability market a significant advantage.

Experience of working in sales environments and contributing to sales proposals, bid responses and customer meetings.

Excellent interpersonal skills (articulate and engaging)

Experience in building positive working relationships with internal and external customer.

Strong planning, organisation and reporting skills.

Desirable experience of working in or an understanding of working as an overlay

Proactive approach to building relationships

Positive and energetic attitude

Self-starter and ability to work independently acting on own initiative

Desire to “do the right thing”
