JOB SUMMARY
The Reporting Analyst provides timely, accurate and insightful reports for the business. This includes gathering data from various sources and in multiple formats, collating the data and generating reports in suitable format for the audience.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Success in the Reporting Analyst/Associate role is characterised by the effective maintenance and availability of the reporting estate, ensuring that users have access to up-to-date data within agreed timeframes. The role is also defined by fostering stronger engagement across the business, leading to more robust data‑driven decision‑making. Integrating additional data sources enhances the accuracy and depth of datasets, reducing reported errors to below 1%. Furthermore, success is demonstrated by delivering reporting projects on schedule and within their original scope, accompanied by comprehensive user and production documentation for every launch. These outcomes collectively reflect a high standard of data integrity, reliability and stakeholder satisfaction, supporting the organisation’s objectives through quality reporting and analytical support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Data Gathering: Collect data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Data Cleaning: Pre‑process and clean data to prepare it for analysis, which might involve handling missing values, outliers, and inconsistencies.
- Data Analysis: Utilise SQL to query databases and extract relevant information for analysis. Use statistical methods and analytical tools to interpret multiple complex data sets to solve time sensitive or complex problems.
- Report Creation: Develop and generate reports using Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Power BI) and other reporting tools. These reports could include charts, graphs, and detailed data tables.
- Data Visualization: Use Power BI to create interactive and visually appealing dashboards that summarize key findings and insights from the data.
- Presentation of Findings: Clearly present analytical results to stakeholders through reports and visualizations, ensuring the insights are actionable and understandable.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with senior stakeholders across multiple departments to understand their data needs and provide tailored analytical support acting as a resource for departments across Managed Services.
- Tool Proficiency: Maintain and enhance proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, SQL, Report Builder, Power BI, Power Platform and other reporting tools.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- In depth conceptual and practical knowledge of Power BI and SQL to be able to connect to data, code, produce, and link reports with other Power Platform tools.
- Data driven degree e.g., Mathematics, Economics, Financial, Sciences is desirable, or demonstrable experience in analysing complex data sets.
- Possess an analytical mind, be passionate about data and solution focused with an ability to solve complex data problems using multiple sources and methodologies.
- Methodical, quality driven with a high attention to detail.
- An effective communicator both verbal and written with all levels of stakeholders.
- Able to communicate with both technical and non-technical audience acting as a resource to support data.
- A proactive, sound, and impartial decision maker, able to highlight improvement opportunities and work collaboratively to deliver them.
