CDS – Senior Project Engineer Buckinghamshire and Midlands
Salary: DEO, plus bonus package and excellent company benefits
Our ideal candidate will have industry experience with a proven track record in the commissioning of a variety of fire alarm and detection systems, disabled refuge systems, air sampling, gas suppression and any other industry related systems as required. This role may require the successful candidate to be flexible, as they may be asked during periods where project work slows down to carry out service-related activities. There may be a requirement for overnight stays, dependent on the locations of projects. Our successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to work in a pressured site environment and work with contractors to deliver jobs to meet strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Commissioning and Handover of Fire alarm Installations and Disabled Refuge Systems.
- Installing & commissioning small extensions or making alterations to existing systems.
- Programming fire alarm systems cause and effect to meet supplied specifications.
- Completing all relevant paperwork including commissioning certificates.
- Communication professional and confident.
- Proficient use of IT to record and update company records.
- Interpret data ensuring attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ensure that workload is planned and prioritised in accordance with company business needs.
- Deliver flexibility in terms of working hours to meet the demands of the business and occasionally be prepared to stay away from home for short periods of time.
- Utilise knowledge of fire alarm and detection system, emergency lights, disabled refuge systems and access control system.
- Assisting our service department with field related activities where required.
Requirements
- Full UK Driver's License
- Fire Industry Experience.
- Honeywell Gent / Notifier Knowledge would be an asset but not essential (Protec also Desirable).
- Ability to work on most commonly available Fire alarm (i.e. Advanced, Morley, Kentec) and Disabled refuge systems (Baldwin Boxall, Cameo, SigTel).
- General CCTV/Intruder & Access control experience (Desirable only).
- Understanding of BS5839 Part 1 2017, Unit 1 - Fire Detection Design.
- Excellent work ethic, highly motivated and able to work effectively alone under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate with people at all levels, providing clarity and gaining trust.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a manner that enhances the business and complies with legislation.
- IT literate.
