Based in Spaldington, between York and Hull this position is for an experienced and specialist mushroom harvest manager.

Mushrooms are fast growing, sensitive and delicate. This position requires a savvy and experienced harvest manager to ensuring the mushrooms are harvested in an efficient and gentle way. Meeting pick and pack targets by ensuring staff are fully trained. The team consist of 2 Senior Supervisors, 5 supervisors and 2 trainers. All are day shifts. Shifts start at 0600 and finish at 1800, 365 days a year.

A family run business with a very stable SLT, they run approx. 130 employees with a large temporary agency usage to cope with peak periods.

You will be responsible for the following:

• Ensuring the shifts run as efficiently as possible

• Recruitment, staffing and people planning

• Maximise crop yield

• Explore and champion new technologies within the industry

• Controlling waste and always looking at continuous improvement

Setting the overall tone of your department you will be able to encourage and motive your cohesive team. Setting the standard for not only deliverance but with a focus of on-going training and health and safety as well as food safety.

Integral to the SLT you will be working with all departments to ensure any potential issues are addressed before they arise. xiskglj That targets are hit and GMP is being strictly adhered to.
