The perfect combination of gardening and customer care on a commercial scale. These big greenhouses are home to a wonderful family business that grows vegetables. They are gently heated in winter to keep the frost out and get the germinating going. They grow plants for a large variety of customers, but it's all business to business. This is a wonderful opportunity to join the team.
You will be doing the whole lot:
- Talking orders from the internal system
- Sowing seeds
- Pricking out
- Ensuring your orders are growing beautifully
- Updating the system
- Updating the customers
- Sending photos and images
- Maintaining warm and friendly customer contact
- Organising the plant collections with couriers
- Packing and dispatching
- Following the couriers to ensure smooth and gentle delivery
- Addressing any issues along the way
This position is very customer centric; you have great customer service skills, both written and verbal, and will be able to prioritise your workload and manage your day. The days can be quite long in a nursery as the plants never sleep. During the summer peak, you could be working 40 hours Monday to Friday. Saturday is a half day. Overtime rates are available.
