About the Role
The JN Group is seeking an experienced, passionate, and dedicated Registered Manager to lead a Supported Accommodation Service for young people aged 16-17 years. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality support that empowers young people to develop independence, life skills, and confidence as they transition into adulthood.
As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and development of the service, ensuring full compliance with the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023, Ofsted requirements, and safeguarding standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the supported accommodation service.
- Ensure compliance with Supported Accommodation Regulations, Ofsted standards, and organisational policies.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of young people at all times.
- Develop, implement, and review support plans, risk assessments, and pathway plans.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and child-centred environment that promotes independence and positive outcomes.
- Recruit, supervise, support, and develop staff through regular supervision, appraisals, and training.
- Manage safeguarding concerns, incidents, and complaints in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation to a high standard.
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with local authorities, commissioners, social workers, and external agencies.
- Monitor service quality through audits, inspections, feedback, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure the service operates in line with its Statement of Purpose.
- Lead by example, promoting professional standards and positive practice throughout the team.
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with looked-after children, care leavers, or vulnerable young people.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and risk management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team while maintaining high standards of care and support.
- Knowledge of Supported Accommodation Regulations and Ofsted requirements.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Level 3 or Level 5 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or working towards).
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, or Senior Leader.
- Experience working within an Ofsted-regulated environment.
- Knowledge of leaving care frameworks, pathway planning, and transition support for young people.
