We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and dedicated Ofsted Registered Manager to lead our brand-new, fully furnished 3-bed EBD Children's Residential Home in Walsall. This is an exciting opportunity to establish and shape a new service from the ground up, creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where children can thrive. You will play a key role in developing the home's culture, building a strong team, and delivering outstanding outcomes for young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day management and operation of the children's home.
- Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations, and Quality Standards.
- Lead quality assurance processes, including Regulation 44 and Regulation 45 requirements, audits, action plans, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor incidents, complaints, safeguarding concerns, and children's outcomes.
- Develop and implement care programmes that support children's emotional, educational, physical, and social development.
- Recruit, induct, supervise, mentor, and develop staff to deliver exceptional care.
- Ensure staffing levels, training compliance, and best practice standards are maintained.
- Build positive relationships with families, social workers, local authorities, and external professionals.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
- Promote safeguarding and child-centred practice at all times.
- Represent the home professionally in multi-agency meetings and partnership forums.
Essential Requirements
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Recognised childcare qualification relevant to residential childcare.
- Minimum 2 years' experience within a residential childcare setting.
- Minimum 1 year's experience in a management or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding legislation, and residential childcare standards.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate, develop, and inspire a team.
- Commitment to delivering outstanding care and positive outcomes for children and young people.
