We are looking for a Network Operations Engineer who will be part of a team providing Network Infrastructure support across locations for HPE Networking. The role will involve both remote and onsite support, requiring travel. The primary position is to deliver new project deployments or upgrades with guidance and support from the rest of the network team.

Tasks (but not limited to):

  • Installation of equipment
  • Manage communication with customer on project progress
  • Manage technical tests, work on proof of concepts
  • Ensure SLA requirements and Customer Satisfaction metrics are on or above target
  • Completion of network health checks both wired and wireless as per agreed process
  • Provision of network device configuration either via Aruba Central / Juniper MIST or local to device to supplied requirements
  • Adhere to strict policies and processes around security and data protection
  • Ensure the escalation process is followed and any issues are communicated appropriately to internal and customer management teams
  • Drive HPE value-add service enhancements through innovation and process improvement
  • Create internal technical documents for local team
  • Troubleshoot hardware and firmware issues on networking infrastructure

Required skills and attributes:

  • 2 years of experience working with Aruba/Juniper/HPE Networking equipment
  • Strong customer service skills including the ability to simplify technical detail
  • Highly organised with the ability to work in a fast-paced, structured manner to meet tight deadlines
  • Confident, collaborative working style and able to interface with people of all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to recognise and react to situations with a sense of urgency and problem ownership
  • ITIL Service Management Foundation
  • Experience of IT incident major management
  • Experience working within a structured project
  • Comfortable working with Aruba ClearPass, Aruba Central & Juniper MIST environments
