We are looking for a Data Centre Engineer who will provide server hardware support mainly for HPE and IBM within a data centre environment, with onsite shift cover 24 x 7 x 365. The tasks will include (but are not limited to):
- Providing server hardware support for HPE, IBM, and Dell within a datacentre environment
- Onsite shift cover 24 x 7 x 365
- Responsible for the delivery of solutions within named accounts; installations, maintenance, and repairs on customer equipment on a 24x7x365 on-site cover
- Understanding customer goals; identifying consequences of various solutions
- Configuring system hardware & software
- Assembling and integrating system/product, and verifying system/product operation
- Using proactive monitoring procedures to identify problem prevention opportunities
- Maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction by clarifying customer needs and ensuring that they are met
- Handling customer-relations problems promptly and appropriately
- Ensuring all calls are resolved within the agreed SLA, ensuring calls are escalated when required and customers are updated until the call is resolved and closed
Required skills and attributes:
- Must have very strong knowledge of HPE Proliant & Blade servers right up to Gen 10 & IBM P series
- HPE server accreditation preferred
- Use of Service Now
- IBM server knowledge especially 'P' Class and Blade servers
- FSM knowledge
- Service Now call handling system knowledge
- The ability to communicate at all levels
- Display calmness and the ability to solve problems under pressure
- Strong interpersonal skills and high awareness of customer needs
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
