About the Team
The Policy Team influences policy and regulation at global, regional and national levels and coordinates engagement with standards, frameworks and key organizations in the CDP ecosystem. The team formulates, Oversees and implements CDP’s policy program plan.
About this role
The postholder supports the Chief Policy and Projects Officer with day-to-day management of the Policy and Projects function and on strategic projects requiring focus and priority delivery. The Policy and Projects Coordinator collaborates across the global organization, working with Chiefs of Staff and other functions to ensure coordinated delivery of CDP Policy and Projects flagship campaigns and events. Typical events include COPs, Climate Weeks, and G20 sustainable finance working groups. You will manage workflows, timelines and quality control of materials such as strategy documents, briefings and mission reports to ensure coherence and timeliness.
What you will do
- Support the Chief Policy and Projects Officer on key strategic projects requiring priority delivery.
- Contribute to longer-term strategic projects and partnerships; represent Policy and Projects in internal working groups and committees.
- Respond to inbound opportunities from internal or external sources.
- Assist with ongoing strategy management for the team and act as a trusted advisor.
- Provide quality control for event and project briefings, ensuring clarity, factual accuracy, formatting and alignment with CDP positioning before sign-off.
- Coordinate miscellaneous policy inputs (letters of support, partner policy asks, joint statements) to ensure CDP input is coordinated and reviewed.
- Support policy project implementation (e.g., SharePoint management, project decks, implementation plans, kick-offs, monitoring and evaluation inputs).
- Liaise with the M&C team for policy messaging in public communications for CDP events.
- Work with thematic leads to ensure integrated strategies between policy campaigns and CDP mission are presented to Leadership.
- Triaging day-to-day requests and project updates; support prioritisation and escalation processes.
- Document processes for escalation and decision-making with adequate information.
- Review priorities with the Chief Policy and Projects Officer and support task delegation and information dissemination within the function.
- Participate in the CDP-wide Chiefs of Staff group to align ways of working across functions.
- Act as a liaison between Policy and Projects and other functions to ensure day-to-day and strategic coordination, especially for Policy and Projects.
- Represent the Chief Policy and Projects Officer internally and identify opportunities for collaboration and support.
- Represent the Policy and Projects team at internal meetings and external events, including speaking engagements.
We’re looking for
- Good knowledge of CDP’s major events.
- Ability to manage projects in a not-for-profit setting.
- Ability to design effective policy engagement strategies.
- Expertise in cross-thematic topics on finance (e.g., transition finance, climate and nature finance, adaptation and resilience).
- Ability to monitor large volumes of information and communicate succinctly and strategically.
- Good understanding of CDP and its mission.
- Ability to work independently with some guidance.
- Contributes to process improvements.
- Strong communication, listening and empathy.
Salary and benefits: The salary banding for this role is £53,629 – £67,036/year, plus 30 days’ holiday, pension, life assurance, training and development, flexible working opportunities and other benefits. Final offer depends on experience, location, total compensation and market data.
This is a permanent, mid to senior level role based at CDP’s London office. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK and able to commute to London with 2 days in the office per week. We cannot sponsor this role.
