About the Team
The Energy team is part of the Climate Change team, which sits under Thought Leadership. The Thought Leadership team is tasked with identifying the ambitious, strategic direction of CDP, representing the subject matter expertise internally and externally and applying it for impact in line with the Earth Positive decision making vision. Within Thought Leadership we create and apply the expert knowledge to balance and guide the professional needs of our disclosers and signatories through both the questionnaire and emerging, specific tailored data subsets. The Energy Team also provides thought leadership within CDP on the energy transition. We are CDP's internal experts on energy, electricity, and Scope 2 Greenhouse Gas accounting. The team also provides expertise externally, including to the RE100 initiative.
About this role
The Senior Analyst – Energy will be one of CDP's experts in the energy sector. The chosen candidate will work with CDP's global climate team to deliver a program of activities which include working on the RE100 initiative. Reporting to the Head of Energy, they will be a highly motivated, strong self-starter with data analysis and presentation skills and the ability to communicate across a range of levels.
What you will do
- Analyse energy data using MS Excel and/or other software and present results internally and externally.
- Develop and maintain energy sector expertise and associated carbon accounting expertise and disseminate it within CDP.
- Support CDP questionnaire development on the Electricity Utility sector based on internal and external data analysis, engagement, policy, and literature review.
- Provide technical expertise in corporate sourcing of renewable electricity to the RE100 campaign.
Internal stakeholders include: Data, Product, and Policy teams. External stakeholders include: Companies (Disclosers, Requesters), Financial Institutions, National Policymakers, RE100, GHGP, SBTi.
We're looking for
- Strong interest in renewable electricity markets and the electric utility sector.
- Excellent knowledge of MS-Excel; experience in data analytics and management is required.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of Greenhouse Gas Protocol Scope 1 and 2 guidance.
- Bachelor's degree in sustainability, energy studies, energy engineering or related field is required. Master's degree is preferred.
This is a hybrid role, candidates will need to live within a commutable distance of the London office and be comfortable with 2 days in the office per week. The salary banding for this role is GBP £39,525 - £49,407.
