The Role
As a BREEAM Assessor, you will take ownership of delivering BREEAM assessments across a diverse project portfolio, working closely with clients, design teams, and internal sustainability specialists. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to step into a role with real autonomy while still being supported by an experienced and well-established team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver BREEAM assessments across multiple schemes (primarily New Construction and Refurbishment)
- Manage projects from early design stages through to certification
- Liaise with clients, architects, and MEP design teams to drive sustainable outcomes
- Provide strategic advice to improve BREEAM ratings and overall building performance
- Prepare high-quality reports and documentation for certification submissions
- Keep up to date with evolving BREEAM standards and industry best practice
Requirements
- Licensed BREEAM Assessor (essential)
- 1–4+ years’ experience within a sustainability or building physics consultancy
- Strong knowledge of BREEAM schemes (NC, RFO, or In-Use)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage client relationships
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
- Experience working alongside design teams across RIBA stages
Desirable
- BREEAM AP qualification
- Exposure to wider sustainability services (WLC, LCA, energy modelling, etc.)
- Knowledge of UK planning requirements and sustainability frameworks
