The Opportunity
We are working with a national building services consultancy that is expanding its presence in the North and has recently opened a new Manchester office. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Graduate Electrical Design Engineer to join a developing and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to build a long-term career in building services design, with structured mentoring, hands-on project exposure, and clear progression.
The Role
As a Graduate Electrical Design Engineer, you will work closely with senior engineers on the design and delivery of electrical building services across a wide range of sectors, including:
- Commercial offices
- Residential & mixed-use
- Education
- Healthcare
- Industrial & logistics
You will be supported day-to-day by a Senior Electrical Engineer, receiving tailored training and guidance as you develop your technical and professional skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the design of electrical building services systems (LV power, lighting, small power, fire alarms, data, etc.)
- Support the production of calculations, specifications and technical drawings
- Work with design software such as AutoCAD and Revit (training provided if required)
- Attend design meetings and collaborate with internal teams and external consultants
- Support projects from concept through to construction and completion
About You
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong interest in building services design and consultancy
- Good communication skills and a proactive attitude
- Keen to learn, develop and work towards professional accreditation (IEng/CEng)
- Some industry placement or internship experience is beneficial but not essential
