About the Team:
The Data Analytic team comprises of data analysts and data scientists working across CDP to deliver innovative data products and data analytical services for internal and external stakeholders including Marketing & Comms, Customer Success, Data Sales, Capital Markets, Cities, States and Regions and Supply Chain clients. Alongside the team, you will help develop and deliver exciting and impactful insights projects as well as support day-to-day operations via servicing of ad-hoc requests from across the organisation.
About this role:
The Data Augmentation and Modelling Squad lead delivers vital data metrics and models aligned with stakeholder requirements and CDP’s strategy. As a Squad lead you will manage a team of data analysts, ensuring efficient delivery of data assets, modelling frameworks, and supporting team development. The Squad lead oversees daily operations, leads data augmentation, KPI development, and modelling frameworks—including statistical, input/output, and bottom-up asset models—feeding into product development and our centralised data asset bank. The Squad lead works across diverse areas: emissions, energy, target benchmarking, disclosure prediction, and financial forecasting. The Squad lead maintains strong stakeholder relationships to ensure delivery meets requirements. The Squad lead applies their leadership skills alongside their technical competencies to deliver impactful, strategically aligned data products that drive value for CDP and its customers. A proven ability to work with and manage multiple stakeholders and projects at once as well as stellar communication skills will be key to succeeding in this role.
What you will do:
- Lead and manage the Augmentation & Modelling squad.
- Develop cloud-based scripts and pipelines using SQL, PySpark & Notebooks.
- Ensure quality and accuracy of data feeding into the metrics, models and products.
- Lead statistical modelling activities - regression, forecasting, time-series analysis.
- Work closely with stakeholders to define, prioritise and manage insights requirements.
- Create impactful data visuals and insights using Power BI or similar tools.
- Keep overview of skills and areas for improvement across squad and wider Data Analytics team and ensure appropriate allocation of work.
- Provide clear growth and development trajectories to direct reports.
- Plan/manage features and the backlog.
- Actively contribute to an effective, engaged and communicative team, clear on its purpose and contribution.
- Ensuring a respectful, inclusive and collaborative workplace.
We’re looking for:
- At least 3 years of applied experience with data analytics and/or data science.
- A strong background in developing applied statistical modelling and/or machine learning.
- Advanced coding capabilities in SQL, Python, PySpark and Notebooks.
- Experience working with cloud computing in Azure or similar platforms.
- Capable of working collaboratively with Git and DevOps.
- Impeccable communication skills in English – to technical and non-technical audiences alike.
- Exemplary and demonstrable people and project management experience.
- Ability to confidently engage a variety of stakeholders building effective working relationships and co-managing projects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- A team player mentality is essential.
- Great attention to detail and commitment to achieving high standards is essential.
Desirable:
- Experienced working according to agile project/product management is desirable.
- Domain expertise in fields related to environmental science/governance/management is considered a big plus.
