About the Team: Disclosure Content is responsible for the strategic development, maintenance, and delivery of CDP’s disclosure framework (question bank, reporting guidance, and scoring). The disclosure framework provides environmental information to investors, customers, and other data users, and drives companies’ actions to transition to a sustainable economy. Within Disclosure Content, the Strategic Evolution team is responsible for developing CDP’s disclosure framework in response to strategic projects, standard and framework alignment, and other evolving needs of the organization. We work closely with other teams and functions across CDP to implement environmental reporting best practices and pioneer new areas of environmental disclosure.

About this role: This role will provide technical, scientific, and analytical expertise to develop and ensure the high quality of CDP’s disclosure framework, to drive corporate environmental disclosure and action, with a focus on the Financial Services sector. This includes the CDP question bank, reporting guidance, scoring methodologies and resulting data.

What you will do:

  • Contribute to the development of the question bank, reporting guidance, and scoring methodologies – across environmental disclosure, focusing on the Financial Services sector.
  • Prioritising data points/metrics from sustainability standards/frameworks relevant to the Financial Services sector and translating these into developments for the evolution of CDP’s corporate question bank and reporting guidance.
  • Analysing response data and conducting desk-based research on the Financial Services sector.
  • Drafting and proofreading technical documents.
  • Provide Financial Services sector expertise and analytical support across CDP’s broader activities related to its question bank, guidance, and scoring methodologies.
  • Contributing to projects (e.g. funded projects, publications, consultations, engagement events etc.).
  • Delivering internal presentations/webinars on the Financial Services sector.
  • Support the planning, implementation, and optimisation of processes related to the evolution and delivery of CDP’s Financial Services questions, guidance, and scoring methodologies.
  • Author, edit and test questions and guidance content in CDP’s online disclosure systems.
  • Actively contribute to an effective and engaged team, clear on its purpose and contribution.

We're looking for:

  • A relevant academic qualification.
  • Professional experience in a role related to environmental issues or financial services.
  • Technical expertise in corporate environmental disclosure, focusing on the Financial Services sector.
  • A demonstrable understanding of the global sustainability agenda and of environmental-related risks, opportunities, impacts, and dependencies for the Financial Services sector.
  • Ability to design, implement, and refine operational processes to drive efficiency.
  • A high standard of written English and the ability to present complex information in a simple and concise way.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, and strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to organise and interpret qualitative and quantitative data.
  • A high level of motivation, with a confident and collaborative working style.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills, with an ability to work effectively and accurately under pressure.
  • The ability to work effectively and efficiently with team members of different technical and cultural backgrounds.

Salary and benefits: The salary banding for this role is £32,157 - £40,197/year, 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, generous non-contributory pension provision, Employee Assistance Programme, life assurance, training and development, flexible working opportunities and other benefits. Final offer amount depends on multiple factors such as candidates experience and expertise, geographic location, total compensation, and market data. This is a permanent contract based at CDP’s London office. Interested applicants must be eligible to work legally in the UK and live within a commutable distance of the London office and be comfortable with 2 days in the office per week.
