About this role: The Legal team plays a pivotal part in CDP’s success. The focus of the team’s work is commercial law but we encounter a huge variety of issues relating, for example, to charity, competition, digital, data protection, employment and IP law. This role sits in a London-based team. Working in a friendly and supportive environment you will quickly have the autonomy to lead on a wide range of legal matters, working with colleagues around the world from all parts of the organisation. You will have the opportunity to build relationships and influence, develop skills beyond the purely legal and most importantly, make a meaningful contribution to the organisation’s success.
What you will do:
- Supporting on routine commercial legal work, such as updates to templates across regions, termination letters, and amendments to agreements
- Assistance with trademark portfolio management
- Support regarding law firm engagement, including management of Letters of Engagement, obtaining different quotes, and budget management
- Support with our legal tech - including amendments which need to be made to our contract templates within Juro (our contract automation software) and amendments to contracts which are generated within Juro for specific clients
- Roll-out of guidance/updates from the legal department
- Data licensing and impact on downstream contracting (e.g. reviewing in-bound data licence agreements for requirements we are required to flow down to our own licensees)
- Data protection support on DSARs and data incidents
- Support on corporate maintenance requirements in regions (e.g. arranging notarisations)
- Support on various legal projects and supporting compliance team on regulatory work
- Any other support for the Legal Risk & Compliance team which may reasonably be required in the paralegal role

Internal stakeholders include: Environmental Data Licence team, Capital Markets team, Supply Chain. Accredited Solutions Provider, Reporter Services, CSTaR (Cities, States & Regions) team, Grants, and Thought Leadership teams. External stakeholders include: customers of CDP’s products and services described above; partners.
Salary and benefits: The salary for this role is up to £32,500/year, 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, generous non-contributory pension provision, Employee Assistance Programme, life assurance, training and development, flexible working opportunities and other benefits. Final offer amount depends on multiple factors such as candidates experience and expertise, geographic location, total compensation, and market data. This is a fixed term contract role with a duration of up to 12 months, based at CDP’s London office. Interested applicants must be eligible to work legally in the UK and live within a commutable distance of the London office and be comfortable with two days in the office per week. We cannot sponsor this role.
