About the Team:
The Data Governance and Quality team is responsible for developing and implementing policies, standards, and guidance to measure and improve the quality of CDP’s data. We establish clear standards and definitions, embed governance and quality principles into system design, and provide training and support to staff. This ensures CDP’s data is accurate and trusted to support high-quality products and deliver its mission with greater impact.
About this role:
The Associate Data Governance Analyst will contribute to the implementation and development of data management policies, standards, and training across CDP. The role will support the implementation of data stewardship across key areas. They will contribute to the development and maintenance of processes for critical data, including master and reference data, and help ensure governance is considered in product and data development. Duties include supporting the delivery of CDP’s data governance tool, assisting with requirements, user input, and testing configurations. They will help align data practices with internal policies and reduce data-related risks. In addition, they will help support data owners and stewards, assist in the promotion of good governance practices, and contribute to other team initiatives.
What you will do:
- Support the development and embedding of policies, standards, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure robust management of CDP’s data
- Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of scalable data governance processes across all critical domains
- Work with colleagues to support Product, IT and the business in embedding standards into system change, product development and processes
- Contribute to the configuration and use of CDP’s data governance tool, including requirements, testing, and ongoing access monitoring
- Work with colleagues to help align principles and the due diligence process
- Help monitor and enforce role-based access, investigate data incidents
- Help champion a supportive data governance culture to demonstrate governance value and impact on CDP’s data

We’re looking for:
- Previous experience working in Data Governance, ideally including support for embedding governance into business processes, products or system design
- Experience of monitoring and enforcing role-based access
- Exposure to data governance tools (e.g. Purview), including requirements, testing, and monitoring use
- Aware of regulatory and compliance frameworks including UK GDPR and data protection laws
- Experience using Microsoft applications including Excel, Teams and PowerPoint
- Exposure to task tracking tools such as DevOps or similar and awareness of Agile methodology
- Confident communicator with strong written and spoken English language skills
- A proactive and a total team-player
Desirable:
- Second language skill
- Experience of working within global organisations
